CHRISTOPHER NIGEL LAWRENCE: A rare silver, silver-gilt and patinated cased Jaeger-LeCoultre Atmos clock, with a pair of candlestick garnitures,

the case of upright rectangular form, the silver-gilt side panels with light textured surface, the top and front edges with a high relief simulated rocky textured surface, the light textured patinated top and front within a narrow polished silver border, applied polished silver circular open dial and signed panels, the pair of candlestick garnitures, with matching textured patinated columns, on polished spreading square bases and textured rims, contained in two original presentation cases, made by GUCCI, height of clock 22.2cm, height of candlesticks 10.5cm.

Christopher Nigel Lawrence born Cumberland 1936.
Studied at the Central School of Arts and Crafts, London.
From R. E. Stone he then joined Gerald Benney as a workshop manager. It was here he developed the method of hammer texturing surface and later refined the use of cutting techniques, He then went on to set up his business in Leigh On Sea, later moving to Southend.
In 1973 he held a one man exhibition at Goldsmiths Hall.
